Life With No Breaks

My Brain on COVID

This time at home has brought a lot of issues and cracks that were hidden in my life to the forefront. I am a strong woman. I have weathered a turbulent past to stay clear of being labeled a statistic by others, raised two and a half fabulous adult children, and raising three of the brightest and most talented children I personally know. I pat myself on the back every now and again, but I have always had these dreaded “Did I forget to teach them something?” moments when it comes to the adult children. Did I teach them how to care for themselves completely: mind, body, and spirit? With what is going on in the world today, it causes me to ponder more than normal.

I think this is happening to everyone.  We are home, sitting, binge-watching, Facebooking, IG-ing, and yes, of course, working. But we are pretty much thinking “how did we get HERE?!?”. Well, mine has been answered. I have been watching the news from FOX to CNN, listening to what sounded like a ticking time bomb being publicly broadcasted prior to Chinese New Year, but no one caring enough to detonate the bomb or at least evacuate the area and secure the perimeter. I know, too much TV, but that is how I sincerely felt and still feel today.

No need to cry and whine over spilled milk. Time to move forward. But still, now I am left with the aftermath: how safe can we get? Is it possible to be too safe? Are my kids practicing true social distancing and proper hygiene? Being a parent puts your mind in overdrive.

I had to say to myself “You can’t cry over spilled milk mama”. As parents, we do our best to make sure that we arm our children with the knowledge that we can. We prepare them from our past experiences or new experiences we go through as a family. Situations such as this is something none of us locals would have imagined could happen. However, we can all learn through this experience together. That is one of the main reasons I started this blog in the first place.

I am an introvert, so I have been practicing social distancing since conception. I may be able to help others with the information I may find, like ways to cope during this time, or just random topics that have crossed my mind, or I may just want to let off some steam or just release so I can leave the emotion and enter evolution.

I will also share some ways to either save or earn some funds. It may not be much, but every little bit counts.

Thanks for reading what I have written thus far. I am posting past blogs that I have done on other sites, as well as writing what I have put together as I was fighting with myself (yeah, I have issues lol). I am growing and developing as a writer, so forgive the grammatical mistakes. I’m learning.
