Life With No Breaks

Nah, He’s Not THAT bad?!?

That’s my mood at this time. There’s so much going on that I can be able to honestly admit that he has drained the hell out of me. Not just the fact that we have a pandemic, no hurry, but the racial tension and the unnecessary violence that is occurring in our nation. This division between us is heartbreaking. However, he’s not worse than Andrew Johnson, America’s 17th president.

Again, this is my opinion. If I can be brutally honest, Johnson basically set in affect the push racism needed to really gather steam (we all know the catalyst). Because of the executive order he signed, it has led to the experiences that we as a nation encounter aka the effect. I truly feel that if Johnson would not have signed that executive order, the United States would have little to no debt, stronger alliances between people of different ethnicities, and really a true marvel. I strongly believe that if he would not have signed that order, we would have gotten along so much better.

Our economy would be thriving beyond all that we could ever imagine. And we could all be proud that we have done it together. What Johnson did not only effect African Americans, but it effected the United States as a whole. I understand that what the president is currently doing is divisive too. The difference between Trump and Johnson is that Trump has the opportunity to fix the damage that he has made.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving a pass to Trump in anyway shape form or fashion. What I am saying is that he has been afforded this time in history because of the former president’s actions. Our nation is filled with fear. And that is something that has to be fixed. With every problem that arises, there is a solution.

We could find the right way to do things in the right manner without having to catcall or send shockwaves of fear throughout the nation. And we as a nation cannot look at the president as being “one of us“. President Trump has always lived an upper class lifestyle. He cannot relate with those of us who have made $1,000,000 or less annually. There’s no real connection. Sadly, his efforts do not work for us all.

I do think that he can recover but he would have to have a real divine intervention in order to clean up his image at this moment in time. At least for me. So, until he can top what Andrew Johnson did, he’s still not that bad, I think?!?.
