Adulting Blah Blah

This adult thing sucks. I was sitting down thinking about how everything has been inflated. Not only are rental prices and housing prices increasing, but even your local utilities have been raised. I chose a prepaid plan with my local electricity provider. I can see that I spend an average of $11 a day to cool my home. The temperature stays at 73°. That’s the only thing that I know that I’m doing wrong in regards to electricity usage. However, I looked at last year’s billing.
I saw that I ran the exact wattage and the average for that month was almost half the amount that I’m spending on my current electrical bill. Oh, it’s getting to a point where I feel like I have to take a step back and breathe. Inflation is going on in every sector of the market, causing people like me to feel burdened. Scratch that; it is a burden. A significant limitation on people like me. If I want to move, I will have to pay at least $600 more to rent a home with duplicate square footage as the one that I currently live in. Next is food.
The avocados that I buy at my local grocer are usually on sale for $.69. Nowadays, I purchase them at $.99 per avocado. I am mentioning this because as an adult, we all are faced with our burdens. We have to maintain a home for ourselves, clothe ourselves, and feed ourselves. We have to make sure that the simple staples of life, such as electricity, water, and gas, are paid for on time to do our day-to-day tasks. I understand the economics portion of this inflation situation, but it couldn’t have happened at a worse time. With the Delta variant running amok, we have no clue when another lockdown occurs (if such a thing will be allowed).
Being locked down for as long as we were in 2020 served its purpose. If one is imposed now, it will also have its purpose. I guess inflation has its purpose, and this stuff happens, but I don’t believe it would’ve been slated to the current rate. My main worry is with such rapid inflation; we could go through a similar rapid dissent. My advice to myself and others: stay firm and plant your feet deep into positivity. Focus on the steps you need to take to create the life you want. I decided to affirm that every time the cost of living increases, so will the money in my bank account. We all have to keep a positive mindset to survive this chapter of life. This is just another one of life’s side effects, teaching us how to be adaptive. We have to learn how to accept the unknown and prepare for what we know.
