Love & Marriage: DC “No New Friends”

Love and Marriage: DC Season 1 Episode 3

SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THIS EPISODE, LEAVE NOW AND COME BACK WHEN YOU HAVE!

This week on LAMDC was interesting. Okay, so the dinner is talked about throughout the episode, and it's crazy to hear everyone's takeaways on the situation between Winter and Ashley. When it comes to James and Erana, they're talking about the infidelity question. Erana’s response stirred up an unpleasant emotion in Jamie. He mentions in the sit-down interview how she should have responded versus her answer. It was funny listening to him tell her how she should have responded. But as a woman, I feel like if that's your truth, and you feel like you want to share it, you should be able to share your perspective. And she did make it very clear that she never caught him cheating.

The conversation between Chris and Monique regarding the dinner was very brief. Their focus was on getting prepared for their trip to Africa. And their comments were concise. Monique focused on Chris shushing her at the dinner table. Chris explains that he didn't say shut up; he just said hush. He did apologize. Winter calls Monique to wish them safe travels as the family heads to Africa. Even though Winter did not speak to Monique about her interaction, she should be happy that she didn’t. Round two begins next.

The remaining ladies meet up for lunch. Winter arrives first, followed by Tosha and Erana. Ashley arrives late (and looks like she could have found something better to do). Winter makes a toast to their blossoming friendship, and Ashley decides to make a sound of disapproval. I’m so glad Erana said something because I did not understand. I fell to the floor when Ashley stated that she and Erana were acquaintances. Ashley seems more hell-bent on keeping Winter fifty feet away versus trying to embrace any friendship. I thought that they were friends the way that they interacted. It seemed like they were friends in that Ashley seemed comfortable with Erana. So, I'm confused. You're going to divulge that type of information to someone beforehand. Poor Erana was not privileged to know that information. I get that she was never invited over to Ashley’s home. I feel like Ashley is trying to pin the sins of her past friends onto new people. And it’s not fair. Maybe I’m reaching but hurt people do hurt people.

Winter and Ashley did seem to come to a agree to disagree type of conclusion. And she wasn't apologetic. Yeah, she apologized, but she kept using the word if. Winter is telling you how she feels, and you continue to dismiss her by saying I'm sorry if… Why must you continue to be so petty? I can see now that Ashley's personality will cause conflict between the ladies. Maybe she's trying to pave her way in the same way Melody paved her way in Huntsville. Melody came out the gate showing us that she was a force to be reckoned with, and maybe that's what Ashley is doing as well. We'll see…
