Love & Marriage: DC “Did I Do That?”
Love and Marriage: DC Season 1 Episode 5
SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THIS EPISODE, LEAVE NOW AND COME BACK WHEN YOU HAVE!
In this episode, the ladies realize they have a mutual friend in common and should at least learn to be civil with one another. Well, at least that's my take. Erana asks Jayson about what he wants to do with himself. He mentions waiting for school to start and his hope that he is enrolled in the doors program so that he can learn to live independently. Jayson seems as if he is a typical 21-year-old who wants to venture out on his own and be able to live life on his terms. From the outside, it looks like his parents are holding him back. In reality, Jamie and Erana want the best for him. They know firsthand the extra care a child with disabilities needs. Erana points this out in her interview when she stated that children with special needs require more time, energy, and attention. Jayson seems to know how he wants to live his life. Ariana asks Jayson about what he wants to do. Jayson mentions that he isn't interested in what his father wants him to do: become a DJ. Jayson is more focused on learning how to be independent and getting an education. He also mentions that he's more interested in working for Apple than being behind a turntable.
Erana plans a family dinner. They all sat at the table together and began talking about the meal that Erana had cooked. James mentioned that it was shocking to see that she had prepared a meal. Erana confessed that cooking is not something that she does. Erana breaks the news to Jamie about Jayson's decision. Jamie looks frustrated with Jayson's decision but respectfully backs down. Now, Miss Ashley decides to do a pop-up on Quick. She begins to speak with Quick's manager asking him to pencil in time for her and the children. And she makes it very known that this is something that must be done. Caesar agrees.
Now the cherry on top of the episode comes from the Samuels. They arrive home after their lovely trip to Tanzania. Unfortunately, things take a turn. Monique asked Chris about the therapist's assignment, and Chris said he had not begun doing the work. But Chris makes it known that he doesn't process things in the same manner as Monique. He must process it in his way. I must interject my two cents here. I understand that Monique wants answers. She expects to be treated a certain way by her husband. And no doubt she deserves it. However, Monique knows her husband's weaknesses and strengths. At this point in her life, her patience has run thin.
Quick, Ashley, Jamie, and Erana meet at a Baltimore restaurant. Erana mentions needing a sex therapist, and a look of embarrassment appears on Jamie's face. The more Erana talked, the more Jamie just kept looking at her. Quick jumps in to lighten the conversation. The couples of DC are showing us style and class, and that status doesn't mean you are devoid of issues. I hope next week's episode is as lively as this one. Until the next episode…
