Who Am I? A Reflection on Growth, Strength, and Vulnerability

Over the course of sharing my journey here, I’ve unraveled many layers of who I am—my strengths, my struggles, and my aspirations. These writings are not just about chronicling experiences; they are a mirror reflecting the person I’ve been, the person I am now, and the person I strive to become. Writing this piece feels like standing at a crossroads where self-awareness, introspection, and aspirations converge.

This blog aims to encapsulate the essence of who I am based on my own musings, while also taking a deep dive into areas where I can continue to grow. By laying myself bare, I hope to inspire readers to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and embrace the beauty of becoming.

1. Resilience in the Face of Adversity

Life has thrown its fair share of curveballs, yet I’ve consistently shown resilience. Whether navigating the challenges of parenthood, overcoming financial hurdles, or weathering the storm of a global pandemic, I have an unshakable ability to bounce back. This resilience isn’t just about survival—it’s about adapting, learning, and finding meaning in hardship.

2. A Deep Capacity for Love and Empathy

My words often reflect a heart brimming with love—for my family, for the people in my life, and even for strangers who might read my posts and find solace in my journey. I genuinely care about the well-being of others and often go out of my way to make sure the people I love feel supported. Whether it’s my role as a parent or my interactions with friends, I strive to bring light into the lives of those around me.

3. A Commitment to Growth

At the core of everything I do is a desire to evolve. I’ve openly embraced the idea that I’m a work in progress, and I’m unafraid to confront my flaws and shortcomings. Whether it’s learning financial discipline, working on my emotional health, or developing my creative voice through blogging and podcasting, I am always striving for improvement.

4. Authenticity and Vulnerability

One of the most defining traits of my writing and personality is my willingness to be vulnerable. I share my fears, my mistakes, and my triumphs with unflinching honesty. This openness is not just therapeutic for me but serves as a beacon for others, letting them know they’re not alone in their struggles. Also, as I begin my journey into the life coaching field, this site serves as a reflection of my humanness.

1. A Tendency to Overextend Myself

As someone who wants to provide for and protect my family, I often find myself taking on too much. Whether it’s emotional labor, financial burdens, or the pressure to “fix” everything for everyone, I sometimes sacrifice my own well-being. This can lead to burnout, stress, and moments of self-doubt.

2. Struggling with Financial Discipline
My candid admission of being financially lazy in the past reflects an area where I’ve had to grow. The pandemic highlighted the cracks in my financial planning and showed me the importance of being proactive and disciplined. While I’ve made strides in this area, it remains a work in progress.

3. Perfectionism and Self-Criticism
I can be my own worst critic, often setting impossibly high standards for myself. While this drive for excellence pushes me to achieve, it also leaves little room for self-compassion. I sometimes struggle to celebrate my successes or give myself grace during setbacks.

4. Fear of Vulnerability Backfiring

While I pride myself on being authentic, there’s always a lingering fear of being judged or misunderstood. This fear sometimes holds me back from fully expressing myself or taking bold steps forward in my creative and personal endeavors.

1. Prioritizing Self-Care

One recurring theme in my reflections is the need to put myself first more often. As a parent and caregiver, I have a tendency to pour all my energy into others, sometimes leaving my own cup empty. Learning to set boundaries, say no, and make time for my mental and physical health will be key to maintaining balance.

2. Strengthening Financial Stability

While I’ve acknowledged and begun addressing my financial habits, I recognize the importance of continuing this journey. This means not just saving but also creating sustainable systems for wealth generation and financial security for my family.

3. Embracing Imperfection

I’m learning to let go of the idea that I need to have it all together all the time. Accepting that it’s okay to make mistakes—and that growth often comes from those mistakes—is a mindset I am working to adopt more fully.

4. Expanding My Creative Horizons

My journey as a writer and podcaster is still in its infancy, and there’s so much potential to explore. I want to push myself creatively, whether it’s experimenting with new formats, collaborating with others, or finding innovative ways to tell my story.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself through this process, it’s that I am constantly evolving. The person I am today is not the same as the person I was five years ago—or even five months ago. Each blog post, each podcast episode, and each life experience has been a stepping stone on this journey of self-discovery.

I am a woman of resilience, love, and authenticity. I am also a woman with flaws, fears, and areas in need of growth. But above all, I am someone who is willing to do the work to become the best version of herself—not just for her family, not just for her readers or listeners, but for herself.

This journey isn’t linear, and it isn’t always easy. But it’s mine, and it’s beautiful. Thank you for being a part of it. Whether you’re here as a reader, a listener, or a fellow traveler on the path to self-discovery, know that we’re in this together.

Here’s to embracing who we are, flaws and all, and continuing to grow into who we are meant to be. 💋
