Christmas Movies with Janetta Part 1

My sister would be the first to tell people that I don’t do Christmas movies. Every year for the past 5 years my sister has called me about some Hallmark Christmas movie spectacular that was premiering over the weekend. The excitement she has as she details each movie she has watched sparked something within me to give festive movies a try. So during the 2020 holiday season, I decided to see what all the excitement was about. I am so glad I did. Here is part 1 of my Christmas movie viewing list:

For the Love of Christmas

I don’t know what to say about this movie. I can say that it has the vibe of “It’s a Wonderful Life'', a modern version. Throwback Holiday is a movie about a young lady by the name of Jacqueline (played by Jennifer Freeman) who is unhappy with her life choices. She is not feeling like she has fulfilled her true purpose. One chance encounter causes her to be able to realize what her life truly means. I can’t knock the movie, but I will say that it is a feel good movie.

The Christmas Lottery

If you are into dramedy (comedic drama), then this is the movie for you. Honey, this movie right here! Okay, so this movie is centered around three sisters who come home for Christmas in order to claim a lottery prize won by their parents. But before they can claim the prize, drama and shady antics arise. This movie will have you laughing and make you want to scream at the screen. Overall, I loved watching it and hope you do too.

A Christmas Surprise

Wendy Raquel Robinson plays a highly successful entrepreneur who receives a very unexpected surprise from her daughter, played by Katelynn Bennett. See, the daughter comes home for Christmas with a surprise boyfriend that the mom doesn’t approve of. And on top of that, the mother of the boyfriend was invited! Something that should have been a sweet surprise from a loving daughter turns into the funniest chain of events that I have seen (lately) in a Christmas movie.

Throwback Holiday

I don’t know what to say about this movie. I can say that it has the vibe of “It’s a Wonderful Life'', a modern version. Throwback Holiday is a movie about a young lady by the name of Jacqueline (played by Jennifer Freeman) who is unhappy with her life choices. She is not feeling like she has fulfilled her true purpose. One chance encounter causes her to be able to realize what her life truly means. I can’t knock the movie, but I will say that it is a feel good movie.

Marry Me for Christmas, Marry Us For Christmas, A Baby For Christmas, Marry Christmas, Baby, and Chandler Christmas Getaway

Now hear me out. I can’t just label these movies from the series individually. I’m just going to put them all together and make sure that they are in order from beginning to end so that you can watch the magic for yourself. Honestly, I am a huge Malinda Williams fan. So each movie in the series stars her along with Victoria Rowell, DeEtta West, and Chrystale Wilson as the incredible Chandler women. This series is about a family by the last name of Chandler who love Christmas more than most. Each movie begins with the same premise: Christmas. The antics of each movie is quite different. All the movies are great and will keep you entertained.

In my next list, I will be reviewing the new Christmas movies that are debuting. I want to give an advance notice though: two movies I have already viewed and let’s just say, I want my time back. Until next time…..
