Love & Marriage: DC “Tanks for Everything”
Love and Marriage: DC Season 1 Episode 10
SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THIS EPISODE, LEAVE NOW AND COME BACK WHEN YOU HAVE!
Tonight‘s episode was filled with love, laughter, and a little drama. Stop number one, the couples retreat. At first glance, everyone is in the living room, getting ready for their IV drip. Then next, you here Quick tell Ashley about an affair or two that she had never heard of. Ashley admits that she had an experience too but quickly explains that this happened at the beginning of their relationship. Ashley‘s expression and response let us know that she wasn’t aware of this part of her husband's story. These two seem uneasy with the revelations that were made. Ashley and Quick try to keep their emotions in check during Ashley's fun gathering. The couples dressed up as their favorite 90s couples. They all look so good, portraying various celebrities. And one part of the fun, Ashley asked the couples a question, and things became a little testy.
After the retreat, the Samuels take their children to a horse park. While the kids were with the horses, Chris and Monique began to talk. The conversation became heavy when Chris slipped up and compared his wife and ex. It’s only natural for Monique to feel slighted by her husband. She stated that she felt embarrassed by Chris bringing up previous lovers. It made her feel a type away, and she wanted Chris to correct it. Chris tried to take back what he said, but the damage was already done. I feel Monique on this one. It’s hard being a wife and then turning around and having to hear your husband compare you with someone who didn’t cut. That’s just downright poor judgment.
Jamie and Erana were preparing for Little Jamie‘s court date. Erana speaks about how she is concerned about the outcome of the meeting. Big Jamie reassures his wife that Little Jamie has changed, and if their son advises the court of his progress, the judge may be lenient. However, Jamie does caution Irene by informing her that there would be a possibility that their son could be arrested. At the attorney's office, we see Little Jamie and his attorney discussing what’s next regarding his case. Little Jamie seems to be heading on the right track. Unfortunately, he has to deal with the consequences of his prior actions. I pray that he has learned from the mistakes of his past.
Lastly, Ashley‘s book party. I was surprised to see Winter there but happy that Ashley invited her after the drama between the two of them. I was thrilled to see the growth of these two ladies and how they were able to bury the hatchet. The rest of the couples arrive, and the Silva‘s into the room last. The woman of the hour comes out and reads an excerpt of her book, titled do that shit. Quick surprises Ashley with a ring and serenade from singer Tank. Overall, the event was filled with happiness and celebration of Ashley‘s achievement. Congratulations, Ashley!
Tonight‘s episode was fun to watch. I’ve been critical of the series, but you can’t blame me. There were times when I questioned the motives and intentions of some of the cast members. However, I’m woman enough to admit that the growth of each cast member has proved to be a phenomenal one. I’m still keeping an eye on the Tyler‘s. If season two happens, I hope to see the Tyler‘s in a more authentic light. I understand they are high achievers with an image to protect, but I would love to see less fake and more natural. Next week, we get to see the inaugural reunion for this show. Looking at the sneak peek of next week's show, it seems like we’re in for a wild one. Until the next episode…
