Always Starting Problems
Why do people start arguments? It’s a curious behavior, especially for someone like me who avoids confrontation and finds it a waste of time. Recently, I listened to a caller on The Bert Show who admitted to starting fights with her husband to avoid going out with him. Her reason? She was ready to act single while still married. This left me baffled and laughing, but it also raised a deeper question about respect and honesty in relationships. If you’re unhappy, end the relationship respectfully—don’t create drama or pretend to be single. Temporary distractions can cost more than they’re worth.
41 and Pregnant
At 41, I found myself unexpectedly pregnant with baby number seven during the pandemic. Though I had planned to travel once my last child turned 18, life had other plans. Navigating pregnancy brain, preeclampsia, and the demands of motherhood while managing virtual school for my kids was overwhelming. Yet, giving birth to a healthy baby boy in February 2021 brought immense joy. Now, as I adjust to life as a new mom again, I reflect on the challenges of a “geriatric pregnancy” and offer advice to other moms in similar situations: embrace the journey, reduce stress, and don’t forget to take care of yourself.
